Which restaurant in Vegas for anniversary
 

My husband and I will only be in Vegas for two nights, one is our anniversary. We want to see as much of Vegas as we can in that short time so can't spend too much time dining and wining. We would like to have dinner (not too expensive) in one of the Casino's. ? buffet or a la carte, which casino would you recommend that we can stop off on our trip down the strip for a meal and enjoy the experience. Will we need to book, it will be a Wednesday night.

How about a price range?
Any type of cuisine in particular?
There are numerous options for every budget and taste.

For a buffet, I would recommend the Bellagio. It is the most expensive but also the most elegant buffet and they have lots of gourmet-type items that you won't see at your typical casino buffet.

There is NOTHING romantic about eating in a buffet, no matter how nice the buffet is.
I am not sure of what "not too expensive" means to you, so I will just tell you the places we have eaten that can be romantic or at least, have great food and good atmosphere.

Pinot Brasserie at the Venetian
Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris hotel might be nice in the evening. We were not impressed but so many people like it that we might have just had an off night.
I think the Venetian and Ceasars are the most entertaining casino/hotels to walk through..the Forum and the Gondolas are fun. Take a ride on a Gondola and get your picture taken together, that would be a fun memory of this anniversary!

Depends on where you're staying, but you might walk up the strip all the way to the Venetian, dine at the Grand Luxe Cafe, then have a nice long walk back down the strip. The cafe has large portions and great desserts, so I'd recommend sharing an appetizer or salad, then sharing an entree and saving room for dessert.

Sharing is pretty popular in Las Vegas so don't be shy about it. And the cafe is pretty casual, though there might be a waiting line so dining early (5pm?) might be an idea.

Thanks for the replies, not too expensive, we are from Australia so we lose quite a bit with our money. We would pay on average around 10-25 dollars Aust for a buffet or the same for a la carte main meal. We have accomodation at the Stardust (it was given to us by a friend) so the idea of walking down to one end of the strip having an early dinner at maybe the Venetian and then walking back may be a good idea

I second the Grand Lux Cafe in the Venetian. We just got back from Vegas and ate there. HUGE portions and really good food.

For an anniversary meal, I would strongly recommend Hugo's Cellar. The atmosphere and food are wonderful. It is downtown on Freemont, but it's Vegas' "best kept secret".
