Which off broadway plays are suitable for a14 yo?
Her father is very picky about that kind of stuff.
|
What "kind of stuff"?
What are her interests? Is there a particular reason you are looking for an off broadway show rather than a broadway show where there are many several shows like the Disney shows really geared toward a young crowd. |
Blue Man, Stomp, Jump, the Fantastiks
|
Add Fruzebruta Ior something like that) and Altar Boyz to MFNYC's list. All of these should be available on discount from broadwaybox.com
|
Altar Boyz is a great suggestion, especially for a teenage girl.
|
I am Catholic and I found Altar Boyz very offensive.
What about Grease or Mama Mia? |
"You know that ain't no shit we'll be getting lots of tit
the chicks'll cream for grease lightning" that kind of stuff? |
Grease and Mama Mia are definitely Broadway and not off-Broadway shows.
It would be hard to be offended in any way at all by the Gazillion Bubble Show! |
I am batting a thousand today. I did not read this post closely either! I should take the advice I give my students...
|
Is this girl 14 or 4?
Is the request for off-Broadway a function of price? Can imagine nothing worse than a "bubble show". What's wrong with the Fantasticks for off-Broadway. It's a clasic ai first saw when I was 12 or so - and loved. |
Blue Men Group is awesome. I've taken friends from the ages of 13-50 to see the show and they all loved it.
Jump can be entertaining. It's no where a master piece or even remotely artful or cultural. But it can be fun to watch as an afternoon show or something. Details here, http://www.bestofoffbroadway.com/shows/jump.html When I was there, the teenagers there were laughing so hard and seemed to be enjoying it a lot. Go search for some discount code for the show though, it does not deserve a full priced ticket. |
My daughter (similar age) absolutely HATED the Fantastics.
