which NYC hotel in October with a toddler?
 

we have a choice to stay at one of these hotels for extremely reasonable rates (family member gets employee discount). which one is the best in terms of cleanliness, safe area, quiet, and good accessibility to public transportation (especially penn station & passenger ship terminal)? i know it's sort of a broad question, and one based on personal preferences, but i'm all ears for opinions!!!!!<BR><BR>- The Muse<BR>- The Roosevelt<BR>- Park Central<BR>- Courtyard by Marriott Times Square<BR><BR>we will be staying 1 or 2 nights after a cruise in october w/ our 1 1/2 year old daughter. we'll be visiting family, and spending some time doing touristy things (central park, childrens museum, unsure of what else).<BR><BR>thanks in advance!

no one has any input on the size of these hotel rooms and their ability to accommodate a crib?<BR><BR>or the safety/walkability of the area?<BR><BR>hmmmm.... here's to hoping some other travelers/parents see this tomorrow!<BR><BR>

Marisa- I've not stayed at any of them but when we were planning a trip we checked out the feedback at www.citysearch.com & found that if you amalgamated all the feedback you got a good idea of what was going on. Also, www.quikbook.com shows some of the feedback that people that have booked via them give.<BR><BR>The other thing we did was to call the hotels and ask a few questions about what their room size, etc. was. They're used to that type of question.<BR><BR>Before you make up your mind take a look at some bus and subway maps & work out which subway/bus number you will need to take to get to the areas you want to visit......and then work out which hotels are near the appropriate routes. I know it sounds backwards, but there's nothing worse at the end of a long day than having to swap bus and subway several times with a tired toddler. <BR><BR>FYI we found the subways great, but the buses VERY slow at all times. So I'd base it around being within a few yards of a subway station, which goes to the places you want to go.

sue, thank you for your responses.<BR><BR>i checked out both of those websites, but they didn't help out too much. :( on citysearch, each hotel had 2 reviews: 1 good and 1 sort of bad. on quikbook, it looked like they only put in positive comments. i will check out the subway routes later today, and also try contacting the hotels directly.<BR><BR>thanks for responding! :)

thanks sue. i didn't notice that part before. i think the muse and park central are my top choices so far, but the roosevelt isn't so awful either. i'm checking the availability tomorrow, so we'll see what happens w/ that.
