Which Maine island off of Mount Desert Island should we visit?

Jump to last reply

My family (me, husband, two kids ages 9 and 6) are leaving for our annual Maine vacation on Friday. We are going back to Acadia for the third year. We are trying to pick a few things to do that we haven't done on past trips. We're thinking that visiting one of the islands off of MDI might be fun. Cranberry Island is one that we are considering.

Does anyone have suggestions for which island to visit. We want the ferry ride, hiking, a cool beach to visit, and a good spot for a bite to eat.

Which island trip would offer the most interesting ferry ride and hikes once we arrive?

Thanks in advance for thoughts. We cannot wait to get to Maine!

-Kellie
