Which is best location?

I am traveling with two other girls in two and wondering which reservation to keep.

40th and Broadway: Courtyard Marriott<near Byrant Park>
or

57th and 7th: Park central Hotel.

We want easiest excess to everything and to the subway!
thanks a bunch!

I'd opt for the Park Central, with a subway right outside your door. I'd put its location above that of the Courtyard -- although not bad, I suspect you'll find the Park Central more. . . well, central.

For location, the two hotels are both in good areas. However, I agree, with Patrick. 57th and 7th will be a nicer locale. You can get on the N,Q, or the R train right there, which has stops in all the right places - Times square, Herald Square (Macy's, little Korea), Union Square, etc. You just can't go upper west side on this line. It is a longer walk to Times Square and Broadway Theatres, but not that far and it is a nicer and more traveled route. You're also right by Central Park. It's a short walk to lots of museums, etc.

As far as location (I've never been inside the Park Central), the Park Central is in a better spot. The N/R line is great - almost always empty and it runs all the way to downtown. Stay away from Times Square hotels, too touristy and crowed area.

Thank you for your help. I was hoping there was easy subway access. The Park Central sounds like the way to go! thanks again! I cannot wait!
