WHICH HOTEL IN FORT LAUDERDALE?

After a long trip in the Southern States in next November, I am planning a one week stay in Florida (Fort Lauderdale). I am hesitating between two places: Hyatt Pier 66 and Marriott Beach Harbor Resort and Spa. Advice please?

This is a simple coice. If you want beachfront, go with the Marriott. If you don't care, go with the Hyatt. Both are excellent.

What gc means is the Marriott is right ON the beach while the Hyatt is on the intracoastal (not for swimming, it used by boats). The Hyatt is not far from the beach (I think the hotel may have a shuttle service). Another place to consider is Lago Mar (lagomar.com)

You can read reviews of all 3 here

Thanks, but unfortunately, Lagomar is sold out at this period

I've stayed at the Hyatt and enjoyed it very much. The grounds are beautiful with a nice pool area. It's a cheap cab ride or about 10 minute (maybe 15, don't remember) walk to the beach. They have a spa and a revolving bar on the roof.

But, as mentioned above, it's not on the beach. I have not stayed at the Marriott.

I live in Fort Lauderdale and I'd suggest you stay at the Marriott Harbor Beach and go over to Pier 66 to experience the revolving lounge at the top of the tower. It revolves 360 degrees in an hour, so you get to see all of Ft. Lauderdale while you enjoy your drinks.

On a funny note, when I was in my early 20's and we'd go hang out at the beach in the evening, my friend and I had a special way of "sneaking" into the pool area to use their restrooms because the ones at the beach in those days were public and we wanted a higher class restroom. We'd then walk across the putting area and look at the yachts. Then we'd turn around and laugh because we left our footprints in the dew on the putting area grass...LOL!!!

I have stayed at Marriott-awesome. We stayed there in June. The service is great! It's right on the beach, great beach. The Hyatt didn't look as nice. The concierge always told us where we could find good places to eat, etc... You'll really enjoy the place. I heard that the restaurant 3030 is great. Unfortunately, i didn't eat in the restaurant at all. Have a great trip which ever you choose.
