Which hotel, Detroit Renaissance Marriott, Royal Park Hotel, or MGM Grand?

Hi there,
I'm looking to stay overnight with my husband for our 10th year anniversary. We want somewhere nice, upscale, and clean (a must) that has a good restaurant. We would like to have a swimming pool, but it seems that neither of these places have it.

Do you have any suggestions? It is for tomorrow night. Nothing like waiting until the last minute.

Thank you.

Unfortunately the Marriott at RenCen lost its pool several years ago. I've stayed there, but never at the others, so I can't offer any comparison. If you do opt for the Marriott, ask for a room above the 40th floor or so. The office towers are 42 floors and you'd be guaranteed a view. Below that, you may or may not have a view.

Have you considered the Ritz Carlton in Dearborn?

Thank you. The Ritz in Dearborn is a little far for us. I was reading on a review that said Ren Cen Marriott had bed bugs. So I am not willing to risk it and stay there.

So it is MGM Grand Detroit or Royal Park Hotel in Rochester. Thank you.

I recently read an article that the MGM Grand is worth staying at. I checked out the web site for the Royal Park hotel and not much info...I would go for the MGM. Have fun

The Royal Park has a lovely buffet. It is a nice hotel and lots of great dining options in Rochester.

Do you have a passport? I would probably pick Caesar's in Windsor for a quick getaway.

What about the Book Cadillac? Roast Restaurant there is fabulous, but they might not have any reservations left.

Have you done a B&B search? I'm not sure what is around here. I just ran a quick search and came up with these:

I would also suggest Ann Arbor, but tomorrow is game day, which means all will be booked.
