Which hotel chains have family/kid suites? (2 separate sleeping areas, 1 room)

We'll be in San Diego, California, if that helps.

We want a room that has two separate sleeping areas, with a door in between, for our younger kids. (theyre too young for their own hotel room) But I'm having trouble searching for a room like that on hotel websites. Theyre all called something different, and some arent very clear on how many beds there actually are. :/ Does anyone know of a hotel who for sure has this option? (hopefully for less than $200 a night) Thanks!

No matter what they say on the website, I'd phone to make sure. I believe the room configurations vary from property to property even within the same chain. A lot of chain Suites don't have a door between the two sleeping areas.

Embassy Suites has a sleeping area with a door and then a living area with a fold out couch. I don't know if that would meet your needs.

There is a Best Western in Shelter Island that has great accomodations for such a family - we had a big bedroom with 2 queen beds separated from LR with sofa bed by sliding door. Full kitchen, balcony or patio.

I stayed at the Embassy Suites La Jolla. They had a corner unit that was a big living/dining area with a bedroom on each side.

Homewood suites. They are the largest 2 bedroom suites.

I don't know if these are available there, but two very good brands, in my limited experience, are Springhill Suites (Marriott) and Summerfield Suites (Hyatt).
