which golf course on Kauai?

DH is a very good golfer..he's playing the Plantation course on Maui. What course would you recommend for him on kauai? Princeville or the one near Poipu?

thanks!

Alooohaaaaa,
When are you going? You know about the weather thang!

Pville and Poipu are the 2 better ones but The Grove/Puukea and Kiahuna and Wailua are nice too. Poipu is the only one I haven't brought to it's knees yet. ;-)

Plus, the funky little 9 holer, Kukuilono, up on the side of the hill in Kalaheo is pretty durn fun too. Fantastic views, too...and very cheap.

The Grove (behind Kukui Grove Shopping Center) closed in Dec and was set to repopen in June-finally completeing the other 8 holes!).

Happy Friday to all,
Kal

"April showers bring beautiful May Kauaian flowers"!

The Princeville Course anytime is worth the chance especially if your DH loves a good challenge!

They used to charge something like $25 after 4:00pm for a cart just to tour the entire course.
You may wish to find out if they still do that and go with him just for the tour. Take a lot of film.
Mrs Kal's fondest Kauaian golfing memories were when we got caught in the 2 rain storms each time we golfed Kukuilono. Golf ball sized rain drops coming down sideways...while the sun is shining! They were both over with quickly.
That and the time she chipped in from about 10 yds off the green and beat me on the hole a Kiahuna!

There are some discount golf sites out there too you may wish to try.
Kalger Woods

DH might also like Kiele by the Marriott in Lihue. Telling him it's a Jack Nicklaus design should get his attention. You ever play it, Kal?

Weather's pretty much luck of the draw. My wife and I saw pretty heavy rains on four of seven days on Kauai in May of '02.

KRIKIES, Bum!
How the heck can I have forgotten about those 2 courses! And it's not even 5:00 yet!
Played them them both and enjoyed the Kiele course mo' bettah vs. the Lagoons side.
Hole #13 is my fave. Right under The Whaler Brew Pubh. Beautiful view of all of my lost golf balls.

And then afterwards a quick trip up to The Whaler for a short "cool down period". I'm a finely tuned athlete ya know!

Kal

I'm with ya, Kalger.....doesn't matter which course, I always play the 19th best.

And I always swing at the ball on the left!
