We can get a little bit of rain at any time of the year here, but chances for heavy rain are higher in the winter, say from November through March. Otherwise, the light rains are not an impediment to golf -- we golfers are crazy people anyway! And except in the winter it is warm, and sometimes even sunny, when it rains here.
The prevailing winds are from the Northeast, so it's probably windiest on the North Shore (like where Turtle Bay is). Our southern exposures get winds also, especially near the mountains, but they are not normally very strong. The wind here can be a factor (or excuse!) in your golf game though.

Oh, one more thing: Maui vs. Lanai...I have played both courses on Lanai. With just one round to be played, I'd stay on Maui and play the Wailea Emerald course. It is scenic, relatively inexpensive for a resort course (although I know that those of us who live here get a lower rate), and a little easier for us ladies than either of the Lanai courses. Save Lanai for another trip.

If you're asking about Lanai in October, Manele will still be very dry. Really, that area hardly rains. Windy? Any course in Hawaii can be windy.
Koele has a better chance of rain since it's built next (and on) a mountain. Mist might also roll in, especially early in the morning.
