Which Florida Key to snorkel?

Hello, I want to go snorkeling in the keys and I hope to find the best place to go.

I have been to Pennekamp many times which was good, but I want to know if there is somewhere better?

I have heard a little about dry tortugas, the middle keys, and looe key.

If you had the opportunity to go anywhere in the keys to snorkel where would it be?

I appreciate any suggestions I get. Thanks and god bless

Apparently, there is good snorkeling in the Dry Tortugas, reachable from Key West, maybe by float plane.

But almost anybody know more about this than I do.

Talking with friends, there is no better snorkeling than Pennecamp in the main chain of islands.

Thanks Ack, that is what I have heard also. I will look into it

Whether the water is crystal clear depends on the weather the day before. The one time we snorkeled in Key West the water was so muddied there was practically no visibility.

The water wasn't clear when we snorkeled at key wet. Barely 3 feet visibility

We snorkeled in the Dry Tortugas last year. Amongst the pilings was very good. I hear there is more reef that I did not have time to get to. It would be ideal to camp there and go early in the morning. Primitive camping.

I have never been to pennekamp, so I have no reference there.

Have fun though!

Maybe a cruise ship had just come in or gone out. I have never had it muddled.
