Which DC Tour?

Would you suggest the DC Duck Tour or the Old Town Trolley tour, or something else?

I'd do the Park Service tour. Our tax dollars at work, less cheesey, and more informative.

I agree w/ Mike. It's called the "Tourmobile", BTW.

We loved the Old Town Trolley tour and
you can get on and off to look around
and then continue with the tour. We try
to take the Trolley tours in any city
we visit. It is a good overview of the
city and you can pick the places you want to go back and spend more time.

One big advantage of using Tourmobile is that they are the only ones that can travel within Arlington National Cemetary. However one can purchase a ticket from Tourmobile at a reduced price for travel ONLY within Arlington.

Tourmobile's disadvantage is that they operate pretty much only within the immediate area of the National Mall. No trips to Dupont Circle, National Cathedral, etc.

Tourmobile is $20 a day or $30 for two days, while Old Town Trolly is $32 a day. As mentioned, tourmobile doesn't go as far away from downtown and mall area. The hours are 9:30-4pm which isn't very long when you are going on capital tours, or smithsonians. Several times, time was up before we could get back to a metro station or our next stop. A couple of the museums are open to 6:30 or 7:30 in summer but we had to walk to them. Still nice way to take a tour of area, and to get out to Arlington. The cemetary tour is included with the all day pass.
