Which Cruise

What is the difference between the "Inside Passage" and other cruises that travel through Glacier Bay National Park? Which is considered the most scenic? Thanks for your help.

You will get better advice if you re-post this on Fodor's CRUISE board.

Glacier Bay is only one day out of the 7. All cruises have at least one glacier viewing day, can be Glacier Bay, Hubbard, Tracy Arm, College fjords. Glacier Bay is the highlight of them all in my experience having sailed them all.

As for Inside Passage, frankly ALL Alaska cruises can claim they sail the inside passage since that is the only way you can get to Skagway and Juneau. The big differences come in the amount of inside passage sailing with usually Seattle cruises having the least.

The routes are very variable and I've been on some sailings that did a great deal of open ocean and were round trip Vancouver. But my preferece is still Vancouver anyway. :)

A friend just booked her week-long trip on a cruise of just Glacier Bay. The ship carries kayaks so what fun that will be! Maybe you could look into something like that if interested.

Made the reservations for Vancouver - thanks for the help. As seniors kayaking makes me a little nervous, but appreciate the thought. Thanks, Sandy
