Which City/Cities do I visit in US?

Good to know whether your travelling alone or with friend/family. Do you prefer easy or adventurous travel? Do you prefer cities to nature or do you enjoy both? Is weather a big issue for you? What's your budget? Is it your first trip to the US? any other interests that could influence an itinerary?

Generically I would say that you would have to try to include New York City, New Orleans, San Francisco and surrounding environs, and at least one of the West national parks.

A secondary group of places would include either Boston or Washington, Seattle, Los Angeles and the California coast, Chicago and Madison, another national park, and chose from either Charleston or Miami or Austin or Nashville depending on your interests.

I guess the first thing is to start south and move up. Miami, orlando, Savana,charleston,williamsburg,D.C. New york,Boston.,Chicago, denver,Jackson hole, yellowstone N.P., Seattle, San francisco,Grand Canyon. How do you plan to travel? Trains are not the same here as the UK. Buses May not go everywhere. And we drive on the right side of the road. The east coast shold be fairly east to do but there is so much more to see. Good luck.

Hi, my husband and I returned from a tour in October. Olando, Mobile, New Orleans, Memphis, Nashville and back to Orlando for a few days r and r before returning to Wales. Fantastic journey. San Fransisco and down the coastal road is also great, went to Carmel and Monteray. Stayed in a place called Capitola by the Sea, thought we'd died and gone to heaven.
New York also good drove across state to Niagra, the people and the coutryside were fantastic. The US is soo vast you can travel for miles without seeing another car on the country roads.

Jane, no offense here, but if you have no idea what you want to see and do during an eight month trip to the U.S., then why are you traveling here?

To "Just" in the previous post. Lighten up, willya. She's just asking for suggestions on travel, not how to split the atom.
