Which Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas?

We'd like to see one Cirque du Soleil show while we're in Las Vegas. Among Believe, Ka, Love, O, Mystere, and Zumanity, which would you recommend and why? Thanks!

I have only seen O, and I would recommend it highly. It has one giant wow factor: water. The floor of the stage transforms invisibly into a pool, then back to a floor, then back to a pool, so you never know when the acrobats are going to dive. It's pretty spectacular.

We want to see Viva Elvis when we go -

Like NewbE, I would recommend "O". But don't sit in the front row or you'll get wet!

Hi Jo--We're not Elvis fans, so I didn't include that show on my list.

RBCal Dec 8th, 2009 08:22 AM

I liked O, Love and Mystere best.

We saw O and Mystere and thought they were both terrific. If I had to choose between them, I would probably choose O, but you shouldn't be disappointed with either of them.

Of those, I have only seen Love, which I totally enjoyed. If you are of the beatles era this would be the one to see. It's awesome.

I've seen Mystere, O, Ka, and Alegria. We loved all but Ka, and really disliked it.

RBCal Dec 8th, 2009 11:13 AM

Avoid Believe and Zumanity. I didn't like Ka either.

Thanks for all the responses!

just to make it harder- we loved KA and mystere, and liked zumanity and didn't care for O or LOVE!!
to each their own!

But, we plan to see it! :-)

Fell asleep in KA, O was fantastic.

If you remotely like the Beatles then I would go for Love. O was spectacular because you have a tank of water that doesn't look like a tank of water into which people can dive and a second later run across the surface. Once you get beyond that technical achievement, I think the music, costumes and acrobatics of Love are more exciting. I also saw Ka and would put it at the bottom. My wife saw all of the above +Zumanity +Mystere and ranks Mystere at the top, Ka at the bottom.

atravelynn Dec 8th, 2009 03:24 PM

Why didn't you all like Ka?

DavidRW Dec 8th, 2009 03:45 PM

I've seen all and would definitely see Mystere again and again. "O" is very "vegasy", lots of lights and less skills. Mystere is what you think of when you think Cirque. The performers do athletic, aerial and gymnastics routines that are simply amazing. You can't believe your eyes. Some of the others are a little cheesy. For the others don't pay extra to sit upfront. Not so with Mystere, while you're not going to miss anything if in the back, closer is better.

Although we were teenagers when the Beatles became popular, I wouldn't describe us as big fans.

I'll look on the Cirque website and decide between O and Mystere. Thanks for the info!

I've seen O and Mystere and they are both great.

I would recommend O first because it's so unusual. It's unlike any other shows because of the tank and water.

Mystere is also great, but if you've seen a lot of other Cirque touring shows, it's similar so you know what you're getting. If you've never seen any Cirque show before, it might be a good place to start and would be more impressive.

Both shows are great and you can't go wrong with either imho. I am seeing Love next week, and I hope to enjoy that one just as much.

What I remember about Ka was boring music, a semi decent plot that you could follow. But the WOW factor just wasn't there. Mystere is next on my list.
