Which Birmingham restaurant?

I have two nights in Birmingham and want the best two places for dinner. Should I choose Highlands B & G, Ocean, 26, Bottega, Satterfield's,Hot and Hot? Or others? We are going next week.

I have considered making Highlands a destination all the way from NC!! His cookbook is just terrific.

I agree about Highlands. I used to eat there a lot on business trips. It was always wonderful.

I asked my Bham friends about the #2 choice and they mentioned restaurants not so pricey. If you want their recommendations, let me know.

I have enjoyed Chez FonFon on a couple of visits. Bottega is good too!

You have to do Highlands - the best!:):) Second choice - I would put Hot and Hot on my list. Great food city!

I dined at Bottega, Highlands and Hot& Hot and my absolute favorite was Hot & Hot (their paper-baked flounder was ridiculously good). Besides the delicious food, their service was the best and friendliest. I also found the location to be really cozy and intimate (and they didn't make us wait at all to get a table).
If you go to Highlands, be aware that their cornbread has finely-ground bacon in it (good if you like bacon, bad if you have any Jews or vegetarians in your party).

well, non-pork-eating Jews. I'm aware that some do eat pork.
