Which area of Kauai to stay?

I am planning to rent a condo thru VRBO. We will be staying 3 nights, our flight out on day 4 departs at 9 pm so we have plenty of time to get from where ever to the airport.

We want to enjoy hiking, scenery, possibly snorkeling and would like to be able to walk to restaurants for dinner. We will be there the 1st week in June.

I'm looking to stay oceanfront if this makes any difference.

Thanks,

Lynnie

Aloha from Kaua`i...

If by "oceanfront" you want to be able to walk from your condo right onto a beach, our north shore only offers one condo project to meet that requirement. Hanalei Colony Resort -- but only one restaurant nearby, and the beach is not swimmable:

There are many, many condo projects on the east side of Kaua`i -- from modest to pricey -- which would put you oceanfront. Lots of dining options on that side of the island, but the beaches (except for Lydgate) are not recommended for swimming or snorkeling.

And of course there are many in Po`ipu, on the south side of the island, too. Lots of dining options, and the beaches are "user friendly" 8-)

Our weather in June is usually glorious, so no matter which side of the island you choose, you can't go wrong.

Thanks Auntie, I just want to look at water, not necessarily walk onto the beach so maybe I will look at the south side.

As far as the south goes, look into Kiahuna Plantation. Lots of units on vrbo.

We've stayed at condos in the Po'ipu area twice and thought the location was great, both vrbo units.
