Which airport do I chose?

Hi here is your stupid question of the day. Does it matter which airport to land at? I had one reservation guy tell me Newark is the fastest to Manhattan while a lady at delta said jfk is the best. HELP!

Partly depends on day of the week, time of day. There's not a tremendous amount of difference, if you're not talking about rush hour, JFK is closer and a bit shorter trip.

In my many travels to and from NYC airports, I've found LaGuardia to be fastest (20-30 mins), Newark to be next fastest (30-40 minutes), and JFK to always be the slowest (1 hour or more). That's the time it takes to get to the Brooklyn Bridge. The roads to JFK have lots of traffic any time of day or night, even at 4 or 5 AM. Traveling to Newark though is a breeze early in the morning.

In my expereince JFK is always the longest travel time into the city. LaGuardia is often - but not always - a little bit shorter a trip than Newark, but I usually fly into Newark because of flight schedules and fares, plus it is a nicer airport and the hub for my favorite airline, Continental.

It depends on where in the city you are going. LGA is usually the fastest. But on any given day traffic problems can make any trip 30 to 60 minutes longer.

So, where are you going to - and are all the air fares equvialent, will you have a lot of luggage, how many are you, and what day of the week/time of day will it be?

Anwering those ? will help provide a better guess - but still subject to traffic conditions.
