*#*#*Where/What Was The Worst Meal You Had In Las Vegas?#*#*#

Please give your worst meal story (complete with details of hotel, food) while visiting Vegas. I am compiling some stories for a newsletter that my traveling group subscribes to.

Thanks!

By far the worst meal in Las Vegas was the Circus Circus buffet!! My husband and I had been walking up and down the strip all morning and we were starved for lunch - so we at there. It's very cheap - I think $2.99 at the time - but horrible!! The food was absolutely disgusting - all looked like it had been on a steam table for hours, very colorless, nondescript-looking. And it tasted about as bad as it looked. The only thing we could fill up on was the soda and the ice cream! Plus the clientele there isn't the greatest - many looked very dirty - which really grosses you out at a buffet!

The worst food I've had in LV was at the Sahara and the Trop, both coffee shops and buffets.

Most of the food in the Excalibur is likewise of poor quality.

I've had good food at MGM (Wolfgang Puck's Cafe & the Italian Place--can't remember the name).

Both Planet Hollywood (Caesar's Palace) and Dive (Fashion Show Mall) have good theme restaurant food.

I was disappointed in the famous Rio buffet. With the price and the lines, I can't recommend it.

The Station casions (Palace, Boulder, Texas, etc.) all have excellent buffets at reasonable prices. They also frequently have coupons--stop by the guest relations booth and pick up a fun book.

Looking for more insight to travelers who have eaten at Circus Circus. I ended up in Vegas hospital for three days with what everyone called "Food Poisoning" but the hospital called it Gasterol something. Looking for anyone who has had a similar bad experience. We lost money on tickets to three shows plus our other friend stayed in the hotel two days sick and also lost $ on his tickets. Any suggestions? Anyone!

I had a friend get food poisoning at the Stratosphere, but never heard anything bad about Circus Circus. They're supposed to be all right. The Steak House always gets very high remarks. I think your experience was probably atypical--although awful!!

We go to Vegas twice a year and have eaten at several different casinos. The worst has to be at the Fremont. The breakfast wasn't even very good. How can you mess up eggs and pancakes?! I agree that the Excalibur wasn't that great either. Have not eaten at Circus Circus, but my husband has eaten at the Steak House and enjoyed it.

The worst buffet I've been to in Vegas has to be Excalibur. Greasy, fatty food that was reminiscent of my old school cafeteria. This was the all you can eat buffet not the dinner that they put on every night. The best buffet has to be at The Rio. $10 bucks all you can eat for some really tasty food.

Hey folks. I live in nevada. I promise you that cheap food here is just as bad and greasy as it is anywhere. Cheap is cheap. We do our very best never to go into the cheap buffets for any reason whatsoever. Don't get me wrong - because of the casinos there are lots of good restaurants, both with medium cost and high cost meals that are excellent - and a number of them are mentioned in the posts above. But remember...cheap is cheap! Other than avoiding cheap grease....have a great stay!
