What useful information....will be saving for my next trip up to the big city.

Thank you. That's quite a list - terrific! Suggest that you may want to add some breakfast/brunch favourites in there too,
|
Thanks for the great suggestions.

Good list.

I've been to a few of these. When I visit DD and am off on my own I like to sit at the bar at Boqueria. Nice wine pours too. Their espresso is great.
Another gem in Village is Moustache. And a bacon cheeseburger at Little Owl. You have any brunch ideas? We loved the Breslin at nomad hotel...And another in the Bowery I can't think of right now. Down an alley? |
For brunch
Although it is a zoo Clinton Street Bakery, Cookshop, Esperanto, and Five Points http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3...nus/brunch.pdf A little known place-Spina http://www.spinarestaurant.com/asset...nu-pdf_189.pdf And for just good pastries and a place to sit- City Bakery |
Here is my latest contribution:
ALDER in the East Village. The moderately priced, small (56 seats) new restaurant opened by a very well-known chef. (Wylie Dufresne of wd-50 fame) Interesting food, some dishes verging on the memorable. Casual. Moderate prices for this caliber of chef. Noisy after 6:30pm. Reservations recommended. On Second Avenue near 10th Street. Essential dishes include the pigs in blankets and the foie. I was not wowed by the much-lauded pasta/pastrami dish, though. http://aldernyc.com/ |
Bookmarking great post, thanks!
