Where to vacation over xmas?
 

My husband and I were going to go to New Orleans for a very late honeymoon trip in late December, but Katrina put a stop to those plans. Does anyone have any other ideas? We love warm weather, beaches, wine, jazz and quiet time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :)

Great ideas! We were thinking of somewhere in the Caribbean. But then when Katrina started, we heard of all the destruction that could happen (nad has been proven) and we thought perhaps avoiding that part of the world would be best - particularly since there are still a full three months left to hurricane season and we have no idea what may be left intact by December. Btw, did you just post to my hot-air balloon thread, Patrick?

The only bump is that the native langauge is Portugese if that matters to you.

I feel for you JazzyChick, we had planned to do the same trip between XMas & New Years. The Keys are usually pretty nice that time of year. That's what I am currently exploring.
