where to vacation in november

I know this is an odd question, but we (2 adults) are trapped into taking vacation week in november...an odd time of year...where to go? lots of off-season options, but will there be anything to do? thinking about santa fe NM; cape cod/islands, north coast of mass (cape ann)maybe NY, (tho no off season there other than august). How about the Destin area of FLA...the coastal carolinas seem out since we don't tennis/golf. we like good food, hiking, being lazy, like walk-around towns and are wide open to anything in the continental US (at the moment) so....the question is, what good november vacation have you had? TIA for any input.

My husband and I were stuck with strange vacation times twice. We flew into Boston one Nov. and had a blast then rented a car and drove the coast of Maine. Most of the towns were so quiet, it being out of season, but we had great rates on hotels. We just drove and stopped, ate and antiqued our little hearts out.
Another Nov. trip was Oregon. We did the wine country there and while a couple of the wineries were closed, most were open and glad to see us. It was chilly and some rain but we stayed in cozy B&B's with fireplaces and drank some great wine and dined where the locals directed us. It was a great vacation.
I live in Fla so would not go to Destin but it is very nice there. There are just so many exciting places other than Florida.
Have fun!
Tannya
