Where to travel in November for warm vacation

I am thinking of taking a vacation in late October/early November and would like to stay in the United States but would like to go somewhere warm. Does anyone have any suggestions where? I like beaches and like to have activities to do but don't want to hassle with having to make lots of plans (I would like this to be an active vacation that doesn't need a lot of planning or hassle). I want to go for 7 to 10 days and my budget is under $2000 to pay for everything (and spending even less would be much better).

I've thought about maybe hanging out in the keys, but wasn't sure what or where else might be good.

Suggestions???

San Diego. Cheap flights now through Jan if you act fast.

Lisa:
I used to spend Halloween week in Florida. (Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Deerfield Beach, Pompano)
The weather was generally great and the ocean temperatures warm.
Enjoy!

Anywhere from South Carolina to Florida, around the Gulf Coast all the way to Texas. Should have warm water and hot temperatures.

I was under the impression that most of Florida did not have warm weather in November except for the keys. This is untrue? I love Florida but figured I wouldn't be able to swim in the ocean and lay on the beach.

Sorry, I was under the impression you said early October. I'd say you would be ok from Indiatlantic (above Palm Beach) south. Again, sorry.

Lisa:
I was in Deerfield Halloween 1998 and 1999. Both times the weather was in the 80's and wonderful.
Did Orlando in 1997 and it was the hottest Halloween on record.
Love Florida at that time of year!

Palm Springs in the California desert is exactly what you're looking for if you want warm conditions. No beach, but lots and lots of swimming pools.
