Where to take "iconic" photo of Vegas strip?

New hotels have been built...old hotels have been imploded..but the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign near Mandalay Bay is STILL around. If you are looking for "the" shot, this is the one. I always see people taking pictures there, occasionally you'll see a bride and groom. Other nice shots are by the volcano, CP's fountains, Bellagio's fountains, and even downtown by Binions. But like I said you MUST take one at the "Welcome to Fabulous LV" sign.

Another good place to try to take a photo of the strip is from top of Rio.

For an icon, i have an off-beat recommendation, how about the picture of
the man called mr. las vegas in the gambling museum in tropicana.


To take pics of the casinos you meed a wide angle lens. I would say ultra-wide angle lens. something starting around 16mm or something.

I took pics of the casinos sometime ago and you can see them in an album here.
