Where to stay when going to Disneyland, Anaheim?
 

There will be four of us, maybe six (might let kids take a friend). So, if we take the friends, that means that we would get two rooms. One for kids and one for us. So, can't be REAL expensive. Since DL will pretty much be all that we do, should be close to max the time at the park. Any suggestions?

Do a search. Type in Disneyland. Lots of recent threads with great info and ideas.

You can also go to www.disboards.com and read Disneyland talkboard. Lots of hotels provide shuttles to the park and free breakfast. Hampton Inn, Embassey Suite to name a few. One more I like is mousesavers.com Great tips on specials, etc.

I was in Disneyland last year (from Ireland). Budget was very tight - felt it was alright to spend on the kids in Disney Park, so had to keep accommodation reasonable. Stayed at the ExtendedStay hotel for about $65 a night (we got a double double room). The rooms have a kitchenette (microwave, coffee maker fridge etc), very clean and comfortable. I'm going back again this year and am tempted to stay there again. Was also looking at some of the Holiday Inns and they are working out very reasonable also. When I think back on it we got back to the hotel room at about 10.30 - 11.00 each night and were gone again in the mornings for 9.30 (that is after visiting the Krispi Kreme outlet). Hope this helps

Just returned from Disney Grand Californian and hotel was great. Probably as close as you can get to the park. Time savings might be worth the extra hassle of traveling each way. Great pool and workout room. Good restaurants on site allow you to eat and walk directly into the park saving time.

Priceline can't be beat.
The Hyatt has been going for as low as $25/night - see BiddingForTravel.com and betterbidding.com .

I went between Xmas and New Years and won a bid for the 3* Coast Anaheim for $45/night. Not bad - but now better deals are available.

The disadvantage of Priceline is that you might have to take the shuttle, but I think that the cost savings would outweigh that problem.

Alternatively - www.hojoanaheim.com - I've stayed there and it's very nice, and walking distance to the park.
