Where to stay in Yellowstone..

Am trying to decide ( and need to quickly, I know) whether to stay in Yellowstone National Park or West Yellowstone this June. Seems none of the places within the park have tv's and think our 2 teenager may be bored at night. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

If you can at all get by without tv, staying inside the park would be much better all the way around. West Yellowstone is a drive, and it's not very scenic.
When we went to Yellowston a few years ago, we stayed at the Snow Lodge which was very nice, even w/out the tv. Our kids were 13 and 11 at the time and they actually made it! We had so much fun, going out to see geysers at night, and for entertainment, they made up lots of silly songs they still remember today! One of our best family vacations ever!

Two suggestions. Try calling for a room with two double beds at the Old Faithful Inn or the Snow Lodge.
Let the teen agers be bored. If they are potentially bored in Yellowstone, they will be bored in any national park. Perhaps you should seek alternative arrangements for them.

You should have plenty of daylight hours in June to keep the teenagers busy; thus, they should be ready for bed at a most decent hour. Take lots of hikes around the beautiful park, and there won't be a problem in the evenings. Besides, there's always portable DVD players you could bring along, MP3 players for music. Stay in the park. You'll love it. Happy travels!

We stayed at the Old Faithful Inn. My 12 year old groaned at first when she noticed the lack of a tv, but ended up enjoying sitting in the lobby in the evening. The lobby is two levels. There are desks to write postcards on or you can play cards or checkers. They have a coffee/hot chocolate cart as well. There is a deck from which you can view Old Faithful. The ambiance of the lobby is unbelievable. . . its like you are in a treehouse!
