Where to stay in Sedona??

My family and I will be in Sedona for 4 days in April and I'm having trouble choosing a place to stay. We'll need 2 rooms (5 folks) so cost is a consideration. Looking so far at Best Western Inn of Sedona, Southwest Inn, Doubletree and Canyon Portal Motel. Has anyone stayed here? Does anyone have any other suggestions? All of the B&Bs and Enchantment were out of our price range (we expect to spend about $200 per night) because we do need the 2 rooms. Thanks a million!!!

We stayed at the Best Western Inn of Sedona in 1997. It is a wonderful facility. You will not be disappointed. Spacious rooms which open to a common patio, but each room with its own outdoor furniture. For wonderful views, ask for rooms facing north on the main level (which is the 3rd floor...go figure!) And inquire at Best Western's toll free number to get the best rates.

Phone 1-800-288-7336 and ask the Sedona Chamber of Commerce to mail you their free 70-page booklet "Experience Sedona." In it are listed dozens and dozens of places to stay, approximate rates, amenities, phone #, and location. Also shown are places to eat, things to do, sights to see.

can't be too specific, but would put canyon portal at the bottom of the list. Friends stayed at southwestern inn last year and enjoyed it.

Canyon Portal has been sold to new owners and is now operated as Los Abrigados Lodge; under the same mgt. as Los Abrigados Resort.
