Where To Stay in Savannah?
We are going to Savannah the first weekend of November. I was wondering if anyone had recommnedations for a nice place to stay - preferrably a B&B or Inn. The posts here are a bit old, so hoping for more recent comments.
Thanks all! |
No idea whether there's a room available, but you can't go wrong with The Lighthouse Inn B&B on Tybee Island. The owners are great! ( If you're not familiar with Savannah...Tybee is about 11 m. from Savannah. It's the closest beach. )

Thanks Sallyjane3! I should have been more specific - we would like to stay in the Historic District so we can walk to everything.

In June, we spent two nights at the Hampton Inn in the Historic District.
Great location, amenities, and a helpful staff. Parked the car in their garage and walked everywhere. Highly recommended. |
I second the vote for the Hampton Inn. Great location..great staff, comfortable rooms.

Try The Bed & Breakfast Inn at 117 West Gordon. Good value in an expensive city for B&B's.
Close to The Mercer House on the edge of the historic district and a nice walk from the river. If you have a lot of luggage or mobility problems make sure you ask for a low floor room. |
Another vote for the Hampton. You will have off the street parking, very close to The Pink House and other restaurants because in November, you might not want to spend a lot of time walking. The Hampton is also the closest to the main area of River Street should you want to go down there.

We stayed at The Bed and Breakfast Inn, also and highly recommend it. We loved our stay so much I can't wait to go back. The staff was wonderful.

We always try to stay at the Planter's Inn. It's right on Reynolds Square, next to the Pink House and you can walk to everything. They have a better than average breakfast and evening wine and snacks. Every room we have had there has been very nice and the staff couldn't be more helpful. It's always a pleasure to stay there. Early November should be off season rates too.

We stayed at the Hamilton-Turner Inn last year and were quite pleased. I forget what square it was in but right next to the Cathederal. Great breakfast each morning and cheese and wine each afternoon. Very helpful staff. Earl will even give you his own walking tour if you like.

Thanks everyone, your suggestions have been most helpful!

Zeigler House! It's on the "prettiest street in Savannah" in the Historic district, very safe area, walking distance to everything, but away from the noise of riverfront. For the price of a room, you will have your own living room, kitchen, and back patio on which to sit and relax. We stayed in Lafayette - private entrance - felt like it was our own little home! |
You might want to check out this listing. I don't know how any of them are, but I am sure that you could find a review of them somewhere.
