Where to stay in Santa Barbara in Dec?

I am visiting Las Vegas then LA in the end of Dec. I have been to LA before and done many of the top attractions. This time, I plan to spend a full day then stay overnight in Santa Barbara. Any recommendations to where to stay?

I have in mind a bed & breakfast, but they seem to be pricy and I am not a big fan of antiques and victorian style decor.

I am also working with a budget, I am willing to spend less than $200... any suggestion?

Check out the Villa Rosa Inn. It is just steps from the beach and a block from State street and Sterns Wharf. Two night min. on weekends, but you could stay during the week for one night.

Stay at Brisas Del Mar
Close to beach.
Nice place .
Breakfast in am.
Bonus wine and cheese EVERY evening
followed by freshly baked cookies.
BTW Santa Monica is a huge malled
out ,trafficked touristy place.
Check out the weather for december.

The last weekend in December is becoming a 4-day extended New Year's Holiday for a lot of people, if you just want one night you'll have to book soon and take what you can get.
Try the Marina Beach Motel, The Eagle Inn and The Mason Beach Inn.

We stayed at the Eagle Inn and really liked it. Especially when you factor in the price!

www.uphamhotel.com

They have great specials listed on their website in your price range and while not a bed and breakfast... its a historic hotel and I think you'll like the look and feel of it. If the weather is nice, you can walk right to State Street.
