Where to stay in Sacramento...

I'm going to the Sacramento area in July for a couple of concerts. One's in Concord, the other's in Wheatland. Does anyone have any recommendations? Are there any area's to steer clear of crime-wise? And, what's there to do in Sacramento during the day??

Are you flying into Sacramento? Where is Wheatland?? Sacramento during the day in July is going to be probably 100 plus degrees so plan for that. They have a State fair which is adjacent to a water park, not sure of the fair dates but the waterpark is refreshing. Antique shops, opera, food, Old Town is a fun area, I like to stay at the Embassy Suites right there, very nice across street from Old Town. July in Sac. I would avoid altho did watch great fireworks once on the 4th from the Embassy Suite. You will definately need a car.

Sleeptrain ampitheater to see the Police? Are you seeing them in Concord too?

Do you want to stay outside Sacto, maybe closer to Wheatland?

State Fair starts in August runs through Labor Day.

Sac County Fair is in May.

Yes, they're at Sleep Train Pavilion in Concord on 7/16 and then Sleep Train Amphitheatre on 7/17. I figured I'd hit both since I'll be in the area.

I just heard from a friend who recommended Marysville/Yuba City for the Wheatland show. She thinks it would be a mistake to stay in SAC for the Concord show.

I'll be getting a car. So, I'll check on the Marysville lead.

Yes, it would be a mistake to stay in Sacramento for the Concord show. It's about 70 miles.

Does anyone have suggestions for lodgings for the Concord show?? The hotels in Concord seemed to have higher rates than the ones in Sacramento.

Hi Amy, go on to Google and check the various website for hotels in Concord, Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek. Do NOT stay in Antioch or Pittsburg.

In that you probably would need to drive from Sacramento to Concord during part of the commute traffic if you could find a room in the Concord area it would be best.

I don't know anything about Wheatland, not even sure how to get there.
