Where to Stay in NYC?
Looking for moderate, family friendly hotel in Mid town, Upper East Side. Can anyone tell me about the Beverly or Mayflower or other recommendations? Thanks a bunch Andy |
Hi there, I stayed at the Mayflower a year ago. It was an older hotel but the rooms were very clean and very big compared to other rooms. We had walk in closets and a pantry. Elevators were slow but we were quite happy with it. Bit of trivia, Jack Nicholson's movie "Wolf" was filmed there.

HI-My husband and I were just in NY in Oct. We stayed at the Millenium Broadway (don't confuse with the Millenium in the financial district). It was a great hotel and great location. Very new-built in early 90s. Art deco style. Rooms are a good size-not giant but not tiny either.
I've also stayed at the Renaissance on 7th-at Times Square. Also a very nice hotel but I prefer the Millenium. Krystyna |
The Beverly is a very nice but older hotel. The rooms are quite large and is located directly across the street from the Waldorf Astoria. Check out the web site and rates at www.bevhotel.com

I just got back from NYC and stayed at The Wellington. I was very impressed wih the location and how nice the staff was. It was only $155-$165. The hotel is older so the elevators are not the fastest and remember that NYC hotel rooms are smaller but the rooms were clean and I will stay there next time. It was also one of the cheapest in price I found.

We always stay at the Helmsley Middletown. Wonderful midtown location and economical rates. One of the older hotels, but meticulously maintained with friendly service.
