Consider the Park 79 near Central Park, good reviews and priced at about $229 plus taxes. You'd be on the subway for theatre etc but two subway stations are very close by.
The Roger Williams is $257 on quikbook plus the $19 fee, with the 20% NYC taxes you're up around $325 nightly.
The old Beekman Towers is in a good location near the UN, clean rooms nice staff, classic old place but outdated furniture and rooms according to recent reviews. $210 plus taxes.
