Where to Stay in New Orleans?
 

Looking for hotel under $200 in French Quarter. Location is important as my husband can't walk too far. Please let us know your favorite in the Quarter.

We liked the Lafitte Guest House, at the quiet end of Bourbon St. It was delightful to have breakfast served on the balcony next to our room overlooking the courtyard.

Based on your husband's needs, try the Omni Royal Orleans. If it's too expensive, check out the Monteleone Hotel.

Try the Prince Conti, half a block from Bourbon St., or Royal Sonesta, on Bourbon (ask for a room away from the street). Jean

We stayed at Hotel Dauphine and LOVED it. The continental breakfast was great -- much more than I would have expected. Rooms were roomy, clean and maid service great. It depends on when you are going for rates, but we found great rates for this hotel during December. One block from Bourbon St. and close to St. Charles street line.

We stayed 4 days at the Bohemian Armadillo Guest House. It is 1.5 blocks off Bourbon Street. Very quiet, authentic period accomodations, inexpensive, close proximity to everything, safe and no noise. Congenial owners. Check out website... www.bohemianarmadillo.com jb

I think SenecaGirl might have meant to say the Dauphine Orleans Hotel, which is a nice place. But for convenience to the FQ, you can't beat the Inn on Bourbon, which also has its own parking facilities. As a second choice, the Royal Sonesta is a very nice hotel in an excellent location. Good luck.

The Bohemian place is way too far for someone with mobility problems. This person needs to stay between Jackson Square and Canal, in my opinion, to keep walking to a minimum.

Another vote for the Royal Sonesta - they have pretty good rates in the summer, and I've seen them offer last minute rates as well.
