Where to stay in Marathon Key?

My family and I are thinking about going to Marathon Key, Florida in April. Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice place to stay that's on the beach? Do any of the hotels/resorts down there include meals? THANKS SO MUCH!

My family and I ended up staying at nice cabins at John Pennekamp State Park because we couldn't find anything reasonable near snorkeling. You have to book far in advance though.

<BR>we've always stayed at banana bay...decent room (marina side) and i think about $80 off season. pool;tiki bar; small man-made bch;wave runner/boat rentals. not really on the beach...but remember...the only beaches in the keys are man-made (at least by my definition of beaches)

whoah! there is no real beach on Marathon. I like the central location and if you want to fish, this is a good place. We have stayed at Faro Blanco on the houseboats (permanently moored). Now these are not luxurious resorts by any means. The only place I can think of that would be a full service resort is Little Palm Island resort which is very expensive and exclusive but out of this world. I have not stayed there but have had dinner there as a guest. Very secluded. Not sure if Fodors describes it but it is easy to find on a web search.
