Where to stay in Laguna?
 

My husband and I (no children) will be in Laguna for two or three days to attend the Pageant of the Masters in July or August. Would you please suggest accommodations, what we should look for in accommodations, (i.e. available parking, shuttles, etc., distance from town), and what week during July or August would be the best. High-end resort is not an option. Thank you for your help.

surf &amp; sand is a good choice. nice hotel and great location. however, nothing is cheap in laguna especially during the master's pagent. driving through town is very congested &amp; parking is a pain so do ask at your hotel if they have shuttles. you could also check out dana point which is just south of laguna.

If you can get a room you have to stay at the Laguna Riviera http://www.lagunariviera.com it is a fantastic value, on the beach, great staff, and very friendly and family orinted. Plus the views are amazing.

I like the Laguna Riviera too! But hurry, they book up!

Here's another vote for Laguna Riviera. We stayed there in july 03 and loved it, paying just under $200, VERY reasonable for the area. Private oceanfront balcony, private beach access, very clean and free continental breakfast. Loved sleeping with the patio door open and hearing the surf.....aaahhhhhh.......

Why on earth would Sean M. pull up a 2-year-old query?? -- especially since the very first response in 2002 to the original post suggests the very place so highly praised by the 2004 3 posts!

I'm always fascinated by topping of ancient threads -- do people search on some topic they know about just looking for something to say? Or are they looking for something else and trip over a thread they want to respond to? It's not like this thread was anywhere in the top 50, 100, 150, or 200 most recent threads.

I heard that tickets for the pageant are all sold out except for the wheelchair access ones- you may want to check before you book your hotel if you don't already have tix in hand.
