where to stay in FL
 
My husband is going to work the Key Biscayne tennis event so we thought we would tack on a little vacation on the end. where should we stay for a long weekend in the end of March. We want a beach with warm water and a romantic, relaxing atmosphere. We also have a lot of Marriott rewards, so we would love to stay at a Marriott, but it's not necessary. We have no problem driving, so anywhere in FL is fine.

You mentioned anywhere if Florida.

Well, if you are driving to South Florida, you might consider a few quiet days in sanibel or Captiva (longer drive).

If you are flying, maybe a bit of the South Beach atmosphere.Not far from MIA.

We are flying in to Miami, but renting a car and driving from Key Biscayne to wherever we decide. Is that far north on the gulf side going to provide warm waters in late March?

Okay, I took some time off from planning and all I've done is booked my flight to and from Miami. It's getting to be crunch time. I need to pick a place to stay and rent a car soon, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

There's a ritz carlton in key biscayne that's supposed to be great. If you want a change of scenery, how abotu palm beach? Can you use marriot points at ritz carltons? if so, i'd say go to the ritz in palm beach.

The Ritz Carlton website says they are currently undergoing construction throughout their property. Also, I'd rather not pay $800 a night...

I guess the obvious choice would be to go to the Keys. I've never been, but we are going in April and I'm so excited!

We found something a little different than the ordinary hotel...it was a "dockside" bed & breakfast on a yacht on Virginia Key - the island you drive over to get to Key Biscayne. www.sanctuarycharteryacht.com

I really like Key Biscayne and would have no problems staying there or on Virginia Key.

I've not stayed here before but The Silver Sands is supposed to be nice.
