Where to stay in Atlantic City?

Can anyone help me by suggesting the best hotel to stay at in Atlantic City? Never been to NJ, was thinking of Trump Taj Mahal or Ballys. Should I be near the Boardwalk?

The Borgata is probably the nicest property, but it's not on the Boardwalk and, personally, I'd prefer having the options of the Boardwalk.

I guess it depends. If you plan to spend most of your time in your hotel gambling, then go Borgata. If you'd like to get out on foot and explore the Boardwalk area, then Trump or Bally's are perfect.

They've done a lot of work at Tropicana in the public areas, but don't know about the rooms.

Trop is on the boardwalk.

Just returned from the Borgata. It really is the nicest hotel there. You can take a Jitney to the Boardwalk. It comes to the front of the hotel every few minutes and is a 5 minute ride.

When are you going and what do you want to do?

If you want to play in a variety of casinos and are heading down in cold weather, Bally's or Caesar's is your best bet. That will give you connections to four distinct casinos and an upscale shopping mall without ever venturing outdoors. If you just want to gamble and look at the ocean, any of the Boardwalk hotels will provide adequate rooms and plenty of opporutnities to drop your money. Ocean views can be a tad pricey.

The Borgata is the only hotel at which I have yet to stay. The public rooms are fine in the dark, you don't want to know what time it is, style and the casino is fine. Many regular gamblers say it has the nicest guest rooms in the city.

Hi, we just got back from 3 nights at the Borgata. It is a wonderful hotel and the closest thing to Vegas IMO. The rooms were great and the indoor pool is the loveliest I have ever seen! We did the spa and it was better than Canyon Ranch in the Venetian! They have a mini fridge and coffemaker in the room. The weather was lousy for 2 days and we were glad to be in such a lovely hotel and did not miss the Boardwalk at all ;-).

Personally, I like Tropicana, since I like the boardwalk. They did major renovations and it's the place to be besides Borgata, which you should also check out.

Tropicana in the Havana tower, or Caesars. You can walk to great shopping from either place, and they are both on the boardwalk. The Borgata is isolated, and there is more to do down on the boardwalk now. Also, the outlet mall is right across from Caesars. Trump Taj is OK, but not the hippest place, compared to other ones. Unless you get a great deal at another place, I'd spring for the ones I mentioned. Are you looking for online deals?
