where to stay final night in Honolulu
Oahu will be the first and last of 3 Islands that we visit. We'll return in the afternoon of July 4th,would like to see Fireworks and will have until late afternoon on July 5th before departing. Where would be a good place to stay that would offer free shuttle service from and to the airport?

The only hotels that offer free shuttle are the ones near the airport.
Shuttles to Waikiki hotels - $9 one way, $15 round trip. Cab to Waikiki about $28 one way. Ala Moana Beach Park (Magic Island) usually has the best fireworks. Map of Waikiki hotels: http://www.waikiki.us/waikikimap.htm...260bb1d8c8b18a You can compare hotels: www.bookit.com www.expedia.com |
Assuming the fireworks are in Waikiki then suggest Outrigger Luana or (cheaper) Ohana Maile Sky Court.
Neither has a free shuttle but both can arrange a pretty cheap shuttle via doorman ($8 from hotel to airport - and in a minivan not a big bus). |

If they wanted to watch the fireworks at Ala Moana Beach Park, would the Ala Moana Hotel be a good choice for their one night? |
Only if they get an oceanview room -- mountain/city views and partial oceanviews can't see Magic Island.
Did this a couple of years ago and loved it. Sat on our lanai watching the incredible traffic and hoardes of pedestrians making their way in and out of Ala Moana Beach Park...glad not to be _in_ it all! |
