Where to stay between Denver Airport and Boulder?

We will be flying into Denver around 9 PM and plan to visit CU Boulder the next day. I'm not sure where we should stay that first night. I'm looking for something like a Marriott Fairfield or Courtyard, but should we drive to Boulder or stay somewhere in between off the highway? We're coming from the East Coast and will be tired after working most of the day then traveling. Thanks!

One more thing, sorry about your Rockies, BUT it's great to be a Red Sox fan today!!!! :)

If you will be tired, why not take a shuttle to one of the several new airport hotels? Then get your car in the a.m. (save some rental) and drive to Boulder. Much easier (~1 hour) drive in the light and awake.
We were happy to be in the Show! Congrats to the Sox!

Where are you staying in Boulder? it isn't far--I'd as soon just get it all over with and stay where I am going.

You should be able to find a Marriott Fairfield or Courtyard, or something similar like an Embassy Suites, near the airport. I think it's a great idea to take the shuttle to the hotel, as Sylvia advised, then get your rental car in the morning.

Seeing Boulder for the first time is best in the daylight, because you will se a gorgeous panorama of the Flatirons as you approach on the turnpike. It's a stunning setting.

Let us know what you think of CU, ok? It's one of the nicest campuses anywhere, and a good school, too. Boulder is the perfect college town!

We're sorry the Rockies didn't win the Series, but we're really proud of the young team for having such an outstanding season. Watch out next year!

Thanks for the replies everyone! I do like the idea of staying close to the airport then driving during daylight into Boulder. I'll let you know how it all turns out!

Definitely stay at the Denver Airport area. Your preferred hotels are nearby: Courtyard Denver Airport and Fairfield Inn Denver Airport. Marriott also has a Residence Inn Denver Airport (stayed there last weekend and it was very nice) and the Denver Airport Marriott at Gateway Park nearby. Marriott runs a 24-hour airport shuttle to all of its hotels.

If you are going to stay at the airport definitely bid for them on Priceline.

Thanks for the info! I will definitely try Priceline and Hotwire!
