where to stay . . . Anna Maria Island , Siesta Key
 

I am planning a a getaway at the end of October and trying to decide where to stay. Has anyone been to Cedar Cove Resorts or have any suggestions of where to stay in this area. We like beach front and at least a suite.

Hi there! We recently went for a 3 night stay, and found a darling small cottage complex called the Bungalow Beach Resort on Anna Maria. We stayed in a beachfront studio, with jacuzzi tub, full kitchen, vaulted ceiling, front porch right on the beach. Very romantic! we love Anna Maria Island...great beaches...nice restaurants nearby (Sandbar, Beach House,just to name a few) Ocober is beautiful time of year!!

Yes, we very much enjoyed Anna Maria. We spent our anniversary day swimming and lying on the beach chairs, drinking champagne! We walked along the beach to breakfast, drove the length of the island another day. The Beach House restaurant, as Nancy mentioned, is great for special occasions $). Annamaria is kind of a throwback to the old beach communities, before the days of highrise condos. Lots of residential areas, a few touristy spots, enough good restaurants for a couple of days. And you have St. Armand's circle just a few miles south, for shopping and more dining.

And October is such a great month - the cooler weather will be around, but water will still be warm, and not too many tourists. Great sunsets too!

Can't get in to Bungalow beach . . . I can get into Anna Maria Beach Resort and Cedar Cover Resorts. Did you see the while you were there?
