Where to spend Extra 10 days in West coast

Hi,
Visiting San Francisco, Los Angeles, Yosemite & Vegas in July 2016

We still have about 10 days and not sure which other places/towns/cities we can add to our trip. What other options do i have. We are not much into history, but do like
City life with good shopping option
Natural beauty
A scenic beach

We dont mind renting a car for trips, but will take flight for longer distance

thanks

Make sure you drive a section of the California coast... we did SF to Carmel and made stops in Marina, Big Sur, Monterey Bay for a whale watch, and took plenty of time to gawk at the amazing ocean scenery... you can keep driving south or hop a plane at any point, but make the coast a part of the trip...

Also consider the Grand Canyon, Sedona,Scottsdale and Flagstaff as part of your Vegas leg of the trip...

Yes, if you haven't driven the CA coast between SF and LA, you should. I know you aren't big on road trips, but this one is really good - and because you have an extra 10 days, you can spend a good amount of time on the drive rather than changing hotels each day. You can spend a couple days in Monterey/Carmel, for example, maybe a couple days in Santa Barbara, and so on. There is a ton of natural beauty on this route. The cities and towns are small for the most part, but interesting.

For the sake of continuity, I'm going to reply to the same question you raised in your other thread, http://www.fodors.com/community/unit...ks-in-july.cfm

Starting a new thread will have us sort of reinventing the wheel . . .

You received tons of suggestions on the other thread
