where to spend Christmas in New England.......

a group of us are planning a christmas get togther. all live in New England: Vermont, Massachusetts and NYC. a few of the group have said they don't want to go anywhere that involves air travel. the rest of us are going to be good about that and not suggest Hawaii, although we really want to :)
what would you suggest as a great place in New England to spend the holidays other than New York City? there is one pre teen and the rest are (chronologically anyway) adults.

I would wish your friends a happy holiday and jump on the first plane to Hawaii!

How about Killington Vermont?

Stowe, VT. We spent a Christmas there and it was so beautiful!

The Mount Washington Hotel in NH, The Pitcher Inn in Warren VT or Stowe VT.

Longfellow's Wayside Inn in Sudbury, Massachusetts would be a fine choice.

Does Stowe, VT usually have much snow during Christmas? I'm guessing it would since it's in a ski area, but thought I read somewhere it can be hit or miss at that time of the year. Thanks.

The areas are, generally open at Thanksgiving, temperatures permitting.

In northern Vermont we get nearly 260" of snow per season. Add snowmaking to that, and we will have snow up here for Christmas.
