Where to snorkel in Pensocola?

I would like to go snorkeling in Pensocola, but am not sure if it is good there, or where to go. I am also worried about the condition of the beaches after the recent hurricans that went through. Any help would be useful. I am also willing to go to Fort Walton Beach.

What do you want to see? I've only found good snorkeling around coral reefs and there are none to my knowledge in that area. I hope I'm wrong!

I am unaware of any good snorkeling in the Pensacola/Fort Walton Beach/Destin area. I have heard there is a snorkel trip out of Panama City to a place called Shell Island that is decent for this area.

Although the beaches in this area are beautiful there is really nothing to see when you snorkle. The only place I have found in Florida that is good for snorkeling is the Keys.

This is what is available at OB/GS next to PENS. Bch--Nothing I'd say

Friends use snorkels to scallop in the bay near St. Joe to see better. But, the Panhandle Gulf doesn't have any natural or artificial reefs (that I'm aware of) to make good snorkeling.
