Where to rent in January in Tucson??

We are active 60 something, retired seniors. Where would be a active place to rent a condo in the Tucson area for 2-4 in January? We do a lot of walking, like theatre and light dinners.

We rented a furnished apt at Canyon Oaks in Tucson for 5 weeks..hope it's as nice as it looks! I thought I might have written this post!

I assume you meant 2-4 weeks. If you haven't chosen anything yet, try www.vrbo.com they have lots of rentals. Tucson is a small city, we prefer the west side of the city. Our daughter lives there and we have rented several condos and houses over the years through VRBO for a month or 2. All were fine. We found a house 2 years ago we love to rent, so now we do that directly. We used to rent a condo regularly at 1200 River Rd (there are several on VRBO) and liked that location very much. Check out the downtown Tucson Museum of Art while you are there.

I recommend the Foothills area, north of downtown.

Try for north/north west Tucson. Any place near the Catalina's will be a good choice.

Today's NYT has 36 hours in Tucson:

Foothills= S/River Road to E/Sabino Canyon Rd. to N/Sunrise/Skyline Dr to W/Oracle Rd.. a big area,in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mts.
North on Oracle you come to Oro Valley and Marana which also may work for you.

VRBO - click on "Tucson". List of areas will come up. Tucson Mountain Foothills, Twelve hundred River Road, Catalina Foothills (some are too far east for me), Casa Adobes. Hacienda del Sol, Greens @ Ventana Canyon are in the Catalina Foothills. If the description says anything about Sabino Canyon or Tanque Verde, that is quite far northeast. It really isn't too big a deal, just everything we like is mid to west side of city. IMO Marana and Oro Valley are too far north especially with the traffic "Snowbirds" produce in the winter. Gates Pass and west are too far west and beautiful as it is, you have to go back and forth over the Pass and it is too much driving. Supermarkets, etc., are not convenient. If you are a AAA member, they have a great map of the city of Tucson. Owners of VRBO properties have always been happy to explain where they are located by phone or email.
