Where to leave luggage while sightseeing in San Francisco?

I will be spending a day in SF sightseeing before heading to the airport for a late-night flight. Where might I leave my suitcase for the day as I won't have a hotel or car?
Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

If you are staying at a hotel the night before you could ask them if it would be okay to leave your luggage while you sight see. Otherwise I don't recall seeing any lockers in San Francisco.

If you are at a meeting you should be able to leave your luggage with building security or might try leaving it at a business hotel with the explanation that you are attending a meeting at the hotel. I have done so when I'm actually attending such meetings.

Hi! Thanks, but a friend is dropping us off in SF in the am and we'll be on our own all day and planning to taxi to the airport. Just thought there might be a creative way to do this!? Thanks!

Just have your friend drop you at the airport...you can check your luggage and then take BART back into the city.

Not sure you can drop your luggage at airport - most have done away with locker/check rooms. Many airlines will not you check-in yourself or your luggage that far in advance of a flight.

I have never been asked by a hotel whether I'm staying there when checking bags. I would just go to a (very large) hotel and immediately ask the doorman where the bagggage check is.

Bardo that was my thought also since I have never been asked any questions by bellman either.

Thanks-I think we'll do the hotel drop-off. I've been asked what room number I was in, but I think we could wing that...

Pick a big, upscale place and just act as though you will be checking in later.
