where to go with a 17mo. old?

From the NY and looking to go away for a long weekend(3 nights, preferably somewhere warm. Any suggestions on where to go with a 17mo. old? Thanks!

Go anyplace you (the parents) wish to go. Why plan a getaway around a person (17 mo. old) who will never remember it?

Also, you don't mention the means of travel or time of year.

Well, Vera didn't put it very nicely, but I too would advise you to go anywhere you want while she's still so portable and without siblings.
Of course, most places around Orlando cater to any aged kids. You might also want to consider the west coast of Florida. The Ritz Carlton Naples is outstanding, and Clearwater is supposed to be lovely, although I haven't been there. (I also want to visit St. Augustine on the east coast from what I've read, although I haven't been there either!)
You may want to fly to Bermuda - although it won't be warm there until spring. But stay at one of the larger, more convenient hotels, such as the Sonesta.
Don't try to overbook your vacation with activities, or stress over finding THE perfect spot. Just spend time sipping pina coladas surfside while baby (coated in sunsreen) makes sand cakes. Let schedules go out the window for the weekend, and watch time stand still.

Relax - re your comment of me: what *are* you talking about? I really don't get it. (not sure I want to either)

Kay:

How about Myrtle Beach?? I went there when my son was 17 months old...and he had a lot of fun there...being on the beach and all. Kids love that!! There is a Amusement park called "The Pavillion" I believe, (its been ten years since I have been there!!) anyway...they have quite few kids rides...such as the Carseoul Horse ride, there are some singing entertainment... Hope this helps.

Have a fun time wherever you go!!
My Dad & I took my 18M old to San Francisco last August. He liked the trolley, he didn't mind Alcatraz, he liked the sea lions at Pier 39, they have a carousel too. He really liked Rainforest Cafe restaurant (we went twice). He wouldn't sit in his seat on the 3 hr bus tour (duh, in retrospect) We stopped a few times & I thought that would be enough, but it wasn't. It's more of an adult vacation, maybe the last one you'll be able to get away with :) Well, I just noticed you said somewhere warm, I guess SF may not be the best choice. But it is a great place to visit. Good luck!
