where to go?North Florida side trip from Gainesville.

We live in South Florida. I'm picking up my 17yr old from Gainesville and instead of driving straight back to Palm Beach County, I'm looking for a 48 hour adventure. I realize I'm only 2/5 hours from Tallahasee and 1/5 hours from St Augustine. (4/5 to Atlanta and 5 hours to Pensacola)

We enjoy the outdoors and museums. (We made the day trip to Jacksonville last year.) Suggestions?

It's been years since we've been to St Augustine, that may be the option. But, any other suggestions?
Been to Palm Coast, Palatka, Kennedy Space Center, Melbourne, Vero, Orlando,
TIA

Have you been to the Morse Museum in Winter Park?
Louis Comfort Tiffany, the Morse Museum, Orlando, Florida
Winter Park is a nice place for an overnight.
As is Mount Dora, FL. Great shops and restaurants and often festivals.
I love the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Museum / Home at Cross Creek -

Thank you for your reply.

We ended up spending the 2 days in St Augustine.
Even though we had been before, we found new places to visit.
*Lighthouse and museum
*walked the shops in the evening
*Flagler College Tour
*Lightner Museum (my teens favorite, especially the music room demo)
*a famous chocolate shop and second hand bookstore

For another trip, we will hit Rawling home and I like the Morse Museum idea. My son is now a freshman a UCF, so we will be looking for more activities in the Orlando area. (Orlando Science Museum is a fave too.)

The music room demo at the Lightner Museum in St. Augustine is truly a special experience. So glad you got to do that!
