Where to Go in the US?
My husband and I have 2 free roundtrip flights to anywhere Southwest flies. We also have Marriott points to use - the higher quality the Marriott, the fewer the nights. Maui/Hawaii is out since we would only have about 2 free nights with the Marriott points.

My question is this - where should we go? As of right now we are thinking Orlando/Disney World (since my husband has never been and I haven't been since I was 12, 15 years ago), Seattle/Vancouver, or somewhere in California. If anyone has any specific Marriott experiences please let me know. Thanks!

Lori,

I say you kick up your heels and do something you wouldn't ordinarily do. If your heart is set on Disney World, go for it! Look at this as a freebee, and that you are just going to please yourselves!

We had four free tickets awhile back from being bumped. We actually arrived at our destination sooner on the alternative flight! We pondered it long and hard. We spent most of our vacation visiting family, during those years. Finally, we decided to take the family to Mexico just for the fun, sun and culture. It was great.

Marriott's harbor Beach in Ft. Lauderdale is excellent, as is the Marriott Orlando World center.
http://www.marriott.com/epp/default....rshaCode=MCOWC

Can you also stay at a Renaissance hotel? We really enjoyed our stay at the Lodge at Sonoma in the Sonoma wine country of California. If you haven't been to that part of the world and like to drink wine and dine in great restaurants, you might consider it.

Fly in to T.F. Green airport and visit Newport, RI.

CMD

Lori,
not sure where SW flies exactly but the Vail Mountain Marriott at Lionshead in Vail is terrific, and in summer or winter. There is a Marriott near Napa Valley if you are set on CA, plus there is a JW Marriott right in Century City in Los Angeles which would be a great location. Then there is a terrific Marriott at Dana Point (below Laguna Beach) that could work as a resort in itself or as a base for day trips to Laguna, La Jolla, San Diego, even Disneyland. Stayed there a few years ago, really nice, several pools, etc. There is a Marriott on the Wharf in San Francisco, and also near the Wharf (I think) in Monterey. I have stayed at all of these!!! Like you I have tons of Marriott points and tons of Marriott stays. The best location of all is Vail, that is where we always use our points. Oh, if SW goes there, there is a lovely Marriott in Mexico City and of course Cancun!
