Where to go for quick 10-year anniversary trip?

Hello,
I currently live in TX and will be traveling to New England for business in late May into mid June. I would like to celebrate my 10 year anniversary while up there, and wondered what spots you might recommend? I was thinking perhaps a long weekend in Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard but my understanding is that the crowds there during the summer are ridiculous. Any other suggestions? Unfortunately, a long weekend is probably the best I can do as far as days - so perhaps 2-3 days?

Thanks for any suggestions...

Probably based out of Connecticut, so Kennebunkport might be a little too far since my guess is that's over a 3 hour drive?

Nantucket and the Vineyard won't be too crazy because schools up here won't be out yet...what about Newport, RI...Summer crowds won't really be here yet, but things will be open and the weather is nice....

Mid June is not quite peak season yet, so it should't be too bad on MV. Nantucket, being smaller and more 'exclusive' may be a bit more difficult. Other options would be Newport RI, a very lively yachting/resort town, and Block Island, which is quite unique. Away from the coast, Litchfield CT. is the picture perfect quaint (but expensive) New England village. A bit further away are the artsy, charming hill towns of the Berkshires. If you want a city exprience, Boston is unforgettable.

Inn By the Sea in Cape Elizabeth Maine (not far from Portland)...and eat at the Lobster shack nearby. Early June is probably best before schools let out. Stay away from Memorial weekend due to traffic snarls.
