Where to go for 40th Birthday

Hello!

I am turning 40 in May and I can travel 5/26/03-6/01/03 to celebrate my birthday. I live in Los Angeles. Any suggestions?

I can spend about $1,500 for the trip.

My dream for my 40th birthday was to walk down the Champs-Elysees in Paris. I'm happy I did it and with $1,500 to spend, you can find a great package and do the same, if you'd like.

New Orleans is a lot of fun and the Memorial Day timeframe means the start of the "low" (cheap) season.

I agree with Flyboy, except that the flight is so long. Can you get a few more days off? After all, your 40th birthday only comes once, right?

It's LA Jan 22nd, 2003 04:09 AM

She's from LA, if she's like most in that town, her 40th birthday came after several at 39!

I'm biased but I'd say New York. Treat yourself to a couple of great meals, La Grenouille, for example.

Alternatively, if you don't want to spend spend hours on a plane or a fortune on airfare, you can certainly live it up in Vegas. Get a nice room at the Bellagio or Venentian and treat yourself to a few afternoon's at the Spa with dinner at Picasso or Le Cirque.

My two favorite birthday destinations are Paris and Las Vegas. Its LA has it right! Stay at the Bellagio, have a spa day, celebrate with dinner at one of the great restaurants, my fav is Circo.
Unless, being from LA, you hop over to Vegas often, then how about
1-a resort in Mexico?
2-go to San Francisco and stay in the Mark or St Francis?
3-Vancouver?
What fun to make these plans and have these decisions to make, no?
Whatever you choose, have fun & Happy Birthday!

Maybe treat yourself to day at the Spa in Palm Springs, Arizona, and of course lastly as all ready said, Las Vegas.

New York! I spent my 40th there. It was my first visit and we had a blast (husband, sister, and two good friends went together).
Rio De Janeiro, Copacabana Beach, or be the girl from Ipanema. Pao de Azucar. Corcovado.

On your birthday, wear your birthday suit at a real nice AANR resort in Palm Springs.

Hawaii.
Vegas, baby.

New York is the place to spend your 40th. Perfect weather in May/June too!
